How To Manage Your Wardrobe Perfectly

Manage Your Wardrobe PerfectlyWhen it comes to shopping sensibly and then arranging or wardrobes, we women are a total mess. We buy absolutely anything we like and then have no place to keep it and hence, it gets dumped under stuff and we forget about it. This leads to duplicity of colors, types sometime we buy the exact same thing.

It is very important to keep our closet organized. If that happens we get a full view of all our belongings and save up on space and money we spend on buying the same things even if it you buy jewellery. Here are some hacks to do that:

Step 1 – Know Your Style

It is extremely important to know what style you are comfortable in. Do you layer your clothes or wear a lot of jewellery. Are you a party person who likes getting dressed up and going out with perfect hair and make-up or do you prefer bold colors over the neutral ones. The later process depends on knowing what you like and what you don’t for your sake and not fashions.

Step 2 – Know Your Lifestyle

If you know what your lifestyle is like then it becomes easier to know what clothes you are going to use and need to buy. So if it is something I have to do then: most of the week I need formals for work both ethnic and western, then for the weekends I need casuals and party clothes which can include fancy places or regular hangouts. This means in need pants, shirts, kurtis, formal skirts and dresses, jeans, casual clothing and few fancy pieces. Heels are optional. I need to buy jewellery as well.

Step 3 – The Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is basically a setting where you put together outfits and then hang or stack them accordingly. So your formals can have one section, then your casuals, then your party wear and then your nightwear. So if you have a uniform like a combination of jeans, t-shirt and flats, it is easier to find this combination in this case. Even with footwear, you can section them the same way. With this can have more possible outfits than you think as you mix and match. You can do this with your jewellery a well. Combining statement pieces in one place, earrings in one or you can even do them as per the outfit you wear them with so that when you buy jewellery you have a fair idea of what you own and how they work.

Step 4 – Detox

When you plan all this out and go ahead to organizing your closet, give your wardrobe a much needed detox. Sort out your belongings in three categories of “New”, “In use”, “Give away or sell” and “Trash”. Now, don’t be afraid to do this, until you make space and let go of things, new things won’t enter in your life. Throw away all the things that are faded or stained beyond repair or which are torn, sell things that you have worn too many times or grown out of or don’t like anymore but are in good condition which includes everything from shoes, jewellery to clothes. You can sell them on Instagram or give away to your friends or in family or have a small sale in your house or yard.

Step 5 – Shop

Almost every piece that I have can be paired together in any combination. This is the part we all love. After all this is done, you new wardrobe is set, make a list of all the things you need. Do not buy things you don’t need or won’t wear, when you buy jewellery it is important to know your need and how much will you use it. Also stock for the next season as you realize what all you need in the coming time like maybe boots or a sweater or a blazer. If you wear formals a lot like I do, try to have as many combinations as possible so that you don’t repeat your outfit too quickly.

How To Spot A Low Quality Suit

Low Quality SuitWhen buying a suit, the easiest option is to pick one up from the supermarket rack. But that’s also the worst option, because most readymade suits at your local mall shopping centre look good only on the mannequins. When you buy and start wearing them, they lose their fit, their shape, and their colour. You might say that it’s hard to spot a low-quality suit when it looks good at first glance. But it isn’t really hard, if you know certain things to look for.

What things? Here they are…

Examine The Fabric

You may not be an expert, but examining the fabric of a suit is actually easy. Premium quality suits are made of pure wool. Therefore the first thing you need to check when buying a suit is whether it’s made of pure wool or polyester or blended materials. Look for raw or virgin wool since recycled wool isn’t very strong. The weave should be smooth with no loose strands or knots, since they lead to pilling. Pilling is the biggest sign of inferior quality materials.

Thread Count

The thread count of a fabric determines its softness and durability. A ‘super’ fabric is one that has a thread count of 100 or higher. The optimal thread count is between 110 and 150. If the thread count is higher than 200, the material will be soft, but it will lose its durability. To ensure the best thread count, do a little online research, read the fabric labels carefully and ask the salespersons at the store if you have any query.

Check The Seams

A quality suit has firmer seams that indicate they are stronger and will last long. The best way to determine the seam is to gently pull them a little apart. If there’s a lot of spacing between the stitches, the seam is not strong. Seams that aren’t flat or have been overstitched or have loose or visible threads are all warning signs.

Check The Buttonholes

Although this may not seem important when your coat is buttoned, it is one of the best ways to determine the make of a suit. Of course, a readymade suit from a store isn’t going to have the standard of work that you find in a bespoke suit, but check that the suit’s button holes don’t have tattered edges, loose threads, or weak stitching and seams. While you’re at it, don’t forget to check that the buttons also are sewn on firmly.

Check The Fit

Whether you’re buying a readymade suit or getting it tailored, you must always check the fit. A high-quality suit at the right size should fit you well and make you feel great in it. The coat shouldn’t stretch, pull or bunch when it’s buttoned, and the fabric should be soft and comfortable. Don’t buy the suit if the fabric feels weak, stiff, or loose.

Buying Men's JeansThere may be a number of items in your wardrobe, but the one item that men cannot do without is jeans. Buying the perfect pair of jeans can be a huge hassle. However, you can go through some of the given tips on what to keep in mind, when you are in the hunt for getting yourself a pair.

Tips to keep in mind when buying jeans

• Stick to your brand – First and foremost what you should do is try on the jeans of various brands. Each brand has its own unique cut and style and thus, you should find out which brand do you prefer the most. Once you have found that out, you must stick to that brand and not constantly try out different brands. This is because if you stick to one particular brand, the fit will be more consistent.

• Pick out a pair that is made of cotton – You must choose jeans that are made of 80% to 100% of cotton. This is because these jeans are the most comfortable to wear. Most cheap brands, more often than not, mix in other fabrics like spandex. This can drastically affect the fit of the jeans. Thus, you should go for the ones made up of linen or cotton as they are more comfortable, especially in the summer season.

• Don’t experiment too much with trends – It is said that trends keep coming and going, and thus, there is absolutely no point in just following the fashion trends blindly if you do not understand them. So, if you want a pair of jeans that is forever in trend, it is highly suggested that you stick to the basics. Jeans in colors like jet black, navy blue, sky blue, etc are always in fashion. So, if you are not a person who is an ardent follower of trends, it is suggested that you stick to such classics and you will be just fine.
